Davey Chase was living on the streets of downtown Los Angeles in the months leading up to his tragic death, a new video reveals.
In horrifying footage obtained exclusively by The Post, the Lilo & Stitch actress can be seen lying extremely emaciated and barely conscious on the floor of a tent or trailer on LA’s infamous Skid Row.
Chase’s longtime manager, John Ryan, told the outlet that he and his sister-in-law, Gaia Brown, had been searching for Chase with the help of a private investigator for several months before learning of the video in late 2025.
He said he was able to speak to Chase on the phone shortly after finding the video and was able to rescue her for treatment, but by the time he arrived at Skid Row, Chase had “disappeared” again.
Ryan and Brown said they planned to nurse Chase back to health in Los Angeles before taking her to a rehabilitation facility in Costa Rica owned by an acquaintance.
“We were so close to finding her,” he told the Post. “Davey was the kindest, brightest light in Hollywood. It’s hard to believe this is real. Her legacy and work will live on forever.”
Shortly before Chase’s death, her boyfriend Roy Hernandez set up a GoFundMe to help Chase “find solace and peace” in his final days.
“My girlfriend Davey Chase has always been the light of my life. She is known to many as a talented child actor who starred in ‘Lilo & Stitch,’ ‘Spirited Away,’ ‘Donnie Darko,’ and more. But behind the scenes, she has faced more than her share of hardships,” the campaign reads.
“Davie, who had a difficult childhood and experienced a painful rift with her family, was bullied in downtown Los Angeles and struggled to find safety and happiness. When we met, I promised to protect her and give her the love and comfort she deserved. Together we found a moment of happiness and hope.”
But Ryan says the man behind the account is a fraudster who allegedly scammed people out of unnecessary cash.
“Apparently, a man claiming to be her ‘boyfriend’ that none of our friends or her family have ever heard of has set up a GoFundMe ‘on behalf of her and her family’ and set her up as the organizer. We can confirm that Davey has set up a trust account with SAG to cover all expenses,” he told the Post.
The “Ring” actress allegedly received a “several million” balance paycheck from her work as a child actress. But that money was never claimed because Chase was “overusing” the heroin and fentanyl and couldn’t recover it, Ryan said.
Ryan pointed out that since Chase is no longer alive to collect the money, the money would go to her next of kin, in this case her father.
Chase died on June 16 after being diagnosed with meningitis and a blood infection that caused his body to become septic and ultimately inactive. She was 35 years old.
According to TMZ, the “Donnie Darko” actress was admitted to a Los Angeles hospital earlier this month due to malnutrition.
