A tour themed around “Wuthering Heights” has begun.
Actress Margot Robbie began her promotional tour for her new film by appearing on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Monday wearing a black lace Alexander McQueen dress that paid a dark homage to the film’s character.
Robbie, who played Catherine Earnshaw in Jacob Elordi’s Heathcliff, brought the Gothic novel character to life in a sheer embroidered lace dress with a high neckline, cut-outs at the bust and ruffles along the neckline.
The dress featured a high-low hemline that hit mid-thigh in the front, followed by a layer of ruffles in the back, and long, slightly belled sleeves were also a nod to mid-19th century stories.
The 35-year-old Australian actress wore her blonde hair in a curly, romantic half-ponytail and completed her look with gorgeous heeled black sandals (also by McQueen) with rosary bead embellishments along the ankles.
The day before, Robbie wore a similarly Victorian-inspired black Roberto Cavalli dress with bell sleeves and a super-short hemline.
In a photo posted by stylist Andrew McMull, The Wolf of Wall Street star Christian Louboutin’s black patent heels are decidedly more extreme, boasting an improbable 130mm heel, which measures more than 5 inches on the steep slope.
She wore her hair in the same crimp style and added a black velvet choker with an oversized pendant.
Robbie and Elordi also debuted matching gold rings by Cece Jewelery, custom made with the book’s most famous quote and a skeletal couple surrounded by roses and thorns.
These baubles were a gift to Elordi from Robbie, the designer exclusively tells Page Six Style.
“The ring symbolizes Heathcliff and Catherine and their timeless love,” the jeweler explains, adding, “The skeleton is placed in the exact same position as it appears in the iconic movie poster, intertwined with roses and thorns, representing passion, beauty and heartbreak.”
She added: “Inscribed inside is Emily Bronte’s immortal quote, ‘Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same,’ flanked by the letters C&H. It’s a quiet tribute to two characters and two souls forever bound together.”
Cece Fein-Hughes is a British jeweler who not only creates beautifully hand-painted gold rings and pendants, but has also recently become a celebrity favorite, designing custom pieces for the likes of Taylor Swift, Gigi Hadi, Kendall Jenner, Gwyneth Paltrow and Rihanna.
From “The Substance” to “Wicked,” “Marty Supreme,” “Challengers,” and more. Method dressing has become very trendy over the past few years when it comes to cast press tour wardrobes.
In fact, you could say Robbie and her incomparable stylist started this movement during the 2023 promotional tour for “Barbie,” in which she played the title role. Her flawless looks even led to her coffee table book crushing her red carpet outfits.
With Emerald Fennell’s film set to be released on Valentine’s Day, we can’t wait to see what the next few weeks bring for the real-life Catherine and Heathcliff.
