On Friday, Millie Bobby Brown debuted her new bob, which has been significantly cut since her last public appearance, at the Joy Awards in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. When she was interviewed on the red carpet, her new look was tousled and gently tucked behind her ears.
Brown also wore a glamorous silver sequined dress with a low cowl neckline and long, sparkling skirt by Tamara Ralph. The front of the dress was accented with a fabric floral appliqué. She accessorized with Chopard diamond drop earrings and wore a natural makeup palette with a red lip.
In a video posted by Joy Awards, Brown reflected on her haircut and glamorous outfit.
“It feels like old Hollywood tonight,” she said. “I had just cut my hair into a very short bob, so I thought, ‘Okay, I better have some sparkle.'”
The Stranger Things star won the Personality of the Year award. For her acceptance speech, she changed into a different cowl neck gown. It is decorated with feathers and sleeves of sheer fabric. Brown talked about how the Netflix hit and her time as a child actress influenced her. She also discussed her current life as a mother with husband Jake Bongiovi.
“From an early age, I wanted to be in the creative world,” she said. “Pursuing creativity and becoming an actor at the age of eight was not a dream I pursued alone. It was encouraged and supported by my parents, who never doubted me for a second.”
“Like many careers, this one is full of challenges, and rejection is a big part of this journey, and it can be difficult, especially when you’re young. But when that special ‘yes’ finally comes, it’s a reminder of how important it is to believe in yourself and keep dreaming.”
Ms Brown continued: “I want to encourage young people to respect themselves, value themselves, love themselves and not be afraid to take a leap of faith.”
“Love your family and the family you have chosen, meet new friends, love yourself for who you are, and hug those who support you,” she added. “I’m so honored to have my own troops in my life. My family is my anchor, my husband is my sails, my team is my engine, and my daughter is my North Star. I couldn’t have done any of this without them.”
