Hilary Duff proves her innocence.
The former Disney Channel star delivered a passionate confessional in her racy “Roommates” single, which premiered Thursday night with an accompanying music video.
In the first verse, the “Lizzie McGuire” alum sings about giving “hints” to a partner you want to date because “physical affection goes a long way with her.”
“I just want a quick fix,” the 38-year-old actress added.
The chorus, which Duff teased earlier this month, includes lyrics about the romance’s turbulent beginnings, when she was “behind a dive bar… holding my head,” which she compares to now, when she was “touching herself by the front door,” wanting her significant other to “look at me.”
Duff changes the chorus slightly later in the song to a line about “touching yourself watching porn.”
She also said she doesn’t want to “beg” her partner to be intimate with her.
“If I tried to come in wearing something sexy, they’d laugh at me,” sings the “young” graduate. “But… you know what I want.”
In the steamy video, Duff belts out the suggestive lyrics in a soaking yellow dress.
Duff celebrated the release on Instagram, telling his followers, “‘Roommates’ is a song about when life was full of life, baby. It’s the ache of wilder, freer times, before we were swallowed up by carpools, budget negotiations, grocery shopping, and the anxieties of old and new.”
“It’s a restless hum of wanting to get back to your rhythm, your person, yourself,” she continued.
Her husband Matthew Koma, who produced and co-wrote her upcoming album Luck…or Something, commented: “You must be so devastated🧡.”
Duff’s friend Mandy Moore yelled, “Go Hill Go!!!!”
In particular, A-list friends have been in the headlines all month after Ashley Tisdale penned a scathing essay for The Cut about leaving the “toxic” celebrity mom group, which also includes Meghan Trainor.
Koma, 38, applauded Tisdale, 40, for a fake article headlined: “Moms group tells everything through dads’ eyes: When you’re the most self-centered tone-deaf person on the planet, other moms tend to shift their focus to their actual toddlers.”
Meanwhile, Duff and Moore are yet to comment on the drama, but the 32-year-old trainer insists he is “not involved.”
