Amazon Prime Video has announced the cast of the “Tomb Raider” series.
Official participants in the video game adaptation include Sigourney Weaver, who Variety previously reported was considering appearing in the film, as well as Jason Isaacs, Celia Imrie, Bill Patterson, Martin Bobb-Semple, Jack Bannon, John Heffernan, Patterson Joseph, Sasha Luz, Juliette Motamed, and August Wittgenstein. As previously announced, Sophie Turner will lead the series as Lara Croft.
Three of them are playing pre-existing roles within the Tomb Raiders series. Isaacs plays Lara’s uncle Atlas De Mornay. Patterson will play Winston, the Croft family’s butler. Bob Semple plays Zip, Lara’s technical support and friend.
Weaver will play one of the new characters, Evelyn Wallis. She has been described as a “mysterious, high-handed woman who seeks to exploit Lara’s talents.”
Bannon will play Jerry, “Lara’s personal pilot and snack collector.”
Heffernan plays David, “a jaded government worker caught up in Lara’s abnormal world.”
Imrie played Francine, head of development at the British Museum, whose sole focus was fundraising and glasses of champagne. ”
Joseph will play Thomas Warner, a “government official brought in to clean up the almighty’s mess.”
Luz will play Sasha, a “fierce and competitive new enemy to Lara.”
Motamed will play Georgia, a “loyal curator at the British Museum dedicated to the ‘proper’ preservation of history.”
Wittgenstein plays Lucas, “a trespasser who in many ways shares a history with Lara.”
Phoebe Waller-Bridge is the creator of the Tomb Raider series and serves as co-showrunner along with Chad Hodge. Executive producers include Waller-Bridge and Jenny Robbins of Wells Street Film.
