The takeover by “heated rivalry” continues. Connor Story, who plays Ilya Rozanov on the Crave/HBO Max hit, will make his late-night TV debut on Monday, January 12 on “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”
The news comes a day after it was announced that co-star Hudson Williams will make his late-night TV debut on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Wednesday, January 7.
The series debuted in November and has since become a huge hit on both Bell Media’s Crave in Canada and HBO Max, which acquired the series shortly before its release.
Adapted from the “Game Changers” novel, “Rivals” tells the love story of two secret hockey players, Elijah and Shane Hollander (Williams), who find themselves in a secret romantic relationship. Over the course of six episodes, the relationship grows from a purely physical one to a deeply romantic one.

Hudson Williams, Connor Story, Dylan Walsh and Christina Chung appear in the ‘Heated Rivalry’ finale.

In the finale, the duo finally spends two weeks together and is able to exchange “I love you”s. Their relationship is also revealed to Shane’s parents, and Elijah stays by his side while Shane comes out.
“That was the part of the story that I was most excited about because the way[creator]Jacob Tierney wrote it was really cool,” Story recently told Variety about the finale at the cottage. “There’s this cool crescendo where the editing and writing is so fast and rapid and you’re putting so much energy into it up front, and then it kind of lands and you end up being just the two of you in the house for a few days.”
He continued, “As an actor, there’s a lot of cool acting moments in there and you can sit with some of those scenes for a long time. It’s the kind of episode that is officially cathartic. People don’t realize because there are all the intimate scenes, but this story is really about people falling in love across great distances. There’s catharsis in seeing it come together in the end.”
