Amy Schumer started the new year as a single woman.
The actress joked that she and husband Chris Fischer missed their New Year’s Eve kiss while they were separated.
“Who’s kissing me at midnight?” Schumer wrote on her Instagram Story Wednesday, above a photo of herself making a funny face and eating spaghetti.
Her light-hearted post comes just weeks after the comedian, 44, announced that her marriage to Fisher, 45, was ending.
“Blah blah blah, Chris and I have made the difficult decision to end our seven-year marriage. We love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son. We ask that you respect our privacy at this time,” she wrote in a lengthy caption on Instagram on Dec. 12.
She denied speculation that her dramatic weight loss was the cause of their breakup, and concluded, “With all our friendship, love and respect! Family forever.”
Page Six exclusively reported that the estranged couple still lives together in a Brooklyn Heights townhouse for the sake of their only child, Jean.
Their marriage had been plagued by rumors of a rift for years before her announcement.
Mr. Fisher first raised eyebrows in 2021 when he gave Mr. Schumer a cake for his 40th birthday that read, “I’m leaving you,” seemingly as a joke.
A bombshell interview from April 2022 resurfaced in early December, with the “I Feel Pretty” stars detailing their lackluster sex lives.
“We’ve been married for four years, but sex is hard,” she admitted on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” at the time.
“When you’re married. It’s hard to have sex when you’re married, right? I mean, it’s like your family. You know what I mean? I’m not just going to have sex with them, like it’s my emergency contact,” she joked. “I don’t like that.”
A day after Schumer announced their separation, sources told the Daily Mail that Schumer’s career had put a strain on their marriage.
A source told the paper that when the Schumers gave birth to their son in May 2019, Schumer put her career on the back burner and “didn’t go as full throttle as she would have liked.”
“Because she has these career goals and she’s a mother, she focused less on her marriage to make it successful.”
They added that she wants to focus on building her career in the new year and is “trying to figure everything out one day at a time.”
The “Trainwreck” star and the chef secretly married in February 2018, shortly after going official on Instagram that same month.
