Yesterday, Princess Charlotte joined her parents (Prince William and Duchess Kate) and siblings (Prince George and Prince Louis) for the family’s traditional Christmas walk at Sandringham.
The 10-year-old princess was spotted leaving St Mary Magdalene Church at Royal Norfolk Estate wearing a new but familiar coat.
Avid royal watchers were quick to draw comparisons to a similar brown and tan Catherine Walker design worn by her mother Kate Middleton during her first royal engagement more than a decade ago.
As with many royal costumes, this resemblance is no coincidence.
Princess Charlotte’s bespoke dress coat was also made by Catherine Walker and featured a chocolate brown velvet collar that matched the style’s pockets, collar and cuffs.
Middleton, 43, wore her version of the outerwear while visiting Treardur Bay lifeboat station on the Welsh island of Anglesey in February 2011, just months after getting engaged to Prince William.
This holiday season was full of fun and festive fashion moments for Duchess Kate and Princess Charlotte.
Earlier this month, the pair attended King Charles’ Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace, where they were seen wearing matching ribbons in their half-up hairstyles. The royal also wore navy blue and evergreen looks for the ‘Together At Christmas’ carol service at Westminster Abbey on December 5th.
At the same event, mother and daughter delighted guests with a piano duet rendition of Erland Cooper’s “Holm Sound.” Recently, a clip was shared on social media, spreading more joy around the world this holiday season.
Although the Princess of Wales didn’t re-wear her daughter’s Catherine Walker dress coat for the event, she opted for equally iconic outerwear to mark the occasion.
For this year’s Sandringham Walkabout, the Duchess wore a brown tartan Blasée Milano coat. This is the same one she wore in her first public appearance this year.
On January 14, Middleton surprised the public by visiting the Royal Marsden Hospital, where she was undergoing cancer treatment last year, and announcing that she was in remission.
We hope that 2026 will be an even more joyful and bright year for the royal family.
