Paramount+ sets true crime series ‘Handsome Devil’ as Deadpool killer

Paramount+ has greenlit a new true-crime documentary about “Deadpool Killer” Wade Wilson, who was convicted of the murders of Christine Melton and Diane Lewis in 2019.

The three-part series, titled Handsome Devil: Charming Killer, is currently in production and is expected to premiere in early 2026. Find out why this 25-year-old Florida man committed such a horrific act of violence, and why his mug shot has garnered so much attention on social media that so many people are fascinated by his facial tattoos and disturbing crimes. Wilson’s trial was televised and dismantled online by crime buffs.

The documentary series uses police body camera footage and interviews with people close to the incident to tell the story of Wilson, who happens to have the same name as Marvel’s popular superhero.

Brian Ross, who also serves as producer and director for Law & Crime Productions with Rhonda Schwartz, wrote the script. Dan Abrams, Rachel Stockman and Melody Shafir will serve as executive producers. For See It Now Studios, Susan Zirinsky and Terence Wrong serve as executive producers, and Aysu Saliba and Cara Tortora serve as supervising producers.

“‘Handsome Devil’ reveals the dangerous obsession and infatuation with convicted and brutal murderers in the digital age,” said See It Now President Zirinsky. “This documentary series explores the intersection of true crime and internet culture with disturbing and shocking testimonies from those who have professed love and fought for justice.”

Ross added: “The more we dug into this story, the crazier it got.”

“Handsome Devil: Charming Killer” joins Paramount+’s lineup of true crime shows. In August, Variety released two of those documentaries. One is “Thirst Trap: The Fame. The Fantasy. The Fallout,” about a 21-year-old TikToker whose interactions with fans become toxic. and “Don’t Date Brandon,” about a modern relationship plagued by deception.
