Although Xochitl Gomez claims she is “single,” her edgy behavior on social media has fueled speculation that she is dating Robert Irwin.
On Tuesday night’s season 34 finale of Dancing with the Stars, where Irwin won the dance competition, Gomez, who won season 32, was asked in an interview by DWTS pro Jan Ravnik if she was “single.”
The actress laughed and insisted, “Yes, that’s right. That’s right. That’s right.”
But on Wednesday, she posted a merry-go-round of the finale night on Instagram.
“What a season! Congratulations to all the finalists ♥️🪩🫂,” Gomez, 19, captioned the photo, which also included a cozy close-up shot with Irwin, 21.
Gomez concluded the slideshow with a photo of a much younger Irwin holding the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy, which her older sister Bindi Irwin won on season 21 of DWTS in 2015.
“Last photo,” he commented.
Robert hasn’t done much to dispel romance rumors, which were sparked by Gomez’s undeniable chemistry when they co-starred on DWTS earlier this month. (Current contestants on the show were paired with past champions in a dance relay.)
“Everyone’s asking if you and Xochitl are an item!” a TMZ paparazzi told Robert as he arrived for practice.
The wildlife conservationist deflected the question and replied, “Oh my god. I had the best time! That dance was so much fun.”
He marveled at her energetic routine and kept saying, “She’s the best.”
When asked again if the two were “a thing or just friends,” Robert entered the studio with a smile on his face.
And ahead of Tuesday’s show, Gomez was photographed giving a personal visit to the zookeeper outside his trailer.
The “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” star gave Robert a huge bouquet of flowers, gave him a loving side hug and laughed as he chatted with him.
After the seemingly flirtatious exchange, a source told Page Six that the two have been enjoying each other’s company ever since they met through a dance competition.
“They’re having so much fun. They’re both outgoing and full of energy,” the source said, calling Gomez “the sweetest person.”
