Whitney Leavitt was absent from half of Season 3 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, but she is set to return for Season 4 of Hulu’s hit reality show when new episodes are released next year. The dancer and reality star confirmed the news to Variety during Tuesday’s finale of Dancing with the Stars.
Leavitt competed on season 34 of the ABC contest and placed 6th. She was shockingly eliminated from the Prince-themed episode on Nov. 18, before the finale — five days after “Mormon Wives” Season 3 premiered on Hulu.
During season 3, Leavitt was noticeably absent from multiple episodes, and her co-stars revealed that she had left the show. She returned in episode 5 and admitted she only agreed to film again because she wanted to audition for Dancing with the Stars. This comment seemed to hurt viewers the wrong way and may have contributed to her being eliminated before the finale, despite being one of the best celebrity dancers on the show.

Whitney Leavitt returned to the ballroom with her partner Mark Ballas for the season 34 “Dancing with the Stars” finale.

“Obviously, she has ‘Secrets of the Mormon Wives,’ which just came out the week before on Hulu, and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t think that had an impact,” “DWTS” executive producer and president of BBC Unscripted Ryan O’Dowd told Variety about the exclusion. “Our job is to provide her with a performance venue and an opportunity to dance to the best of her ability, and to ensure that she reaches an audience who can vote based on what they saw that night.”
He added that Ms Levitt had a “clear intention” to enter the contest and that it was not a negative thing.
“We should applaud those who are very clear about what their intentions and motivations are and have in some sense realized the dreams and goals they had,” he continued. “So why should we see that other than she’s just chasing a dream? That’s what we should all aspire to be.”
Leavitt was at the center of the drama in Season 1 of Mormon Wives, but his role was diminished in Season 3, leading to tensions between Demi and Jesse Engeman that will likely be addressed in their upcoming reunion, scheduled for Dec. 4 on Hulu.
