Katy Perry is seeking nearly $5 million in damages from the former owner of her $15 million Montecito mansion in an ongoing legal battle.
The “California Girls” singer is seeking a total of $4,718,698.95 from former owner and entrepreneur Carl Westcott in court documents obtained by PEOPLE on Nov. 21.
The document states that Perry is “entitled to receive $3,525,000 in rental fees” that she claims were lost as a result of the dispute, as well as “$1,343,401.95, a total of $4,868,401.95” for necessary repairs.
According to the documents, Westcott’s losses should offset $149,703, reducing the total award amount to $4,718,698.95.

But Westcott claims that Perry owes Westcott the remaining $6 million of the $15 million sale price for the mansion, and that she has only paid $9 million so far. However, the total amount will be reduced to $5,740,418.18 to cover repair costs, according to court documents Westcott filed in Los Angeles on Nov. 7.
Both requests were filed three months after Perry testified in a Los Angeles courtroom and was questioned via Zoom in August about his 2020 purchase of California real estate.
When Westcott’s attorney, Andrew J. Thomas, asked Perry what he should get out of the lawsuit, the singer simply replied, “Justice.”

Perry, 40, and ex Orlando Bloom, 48, purchased the Montecito mansion from Westcott in July 2020 for $15 million, according to court documents previously obtained by PEOPLE.
A years-long legal battle over the 1930s mansion began shortly after Westcott sought to cancel the contract. The owner of 1-800-Flowers subsequently filed a lawsuit against Perry’s business manager, Bernie Gudovi, in August 2020, claiming that he “didn’t have the capacity” to sign the deal.
In May 2024, Perry won title to his Santa Barbara-area home during a previous liability trial, The Wall Street Journal reported. The judge ruled that there was no “compelling evidence” to support Mr Westcott’s claims and that he appeared to be “consistent, assertive, clear and rational”.
The Montecito home sits on approximately 2.5 acres and features eight bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, an infinity pool, Jacuzzi, outdoor fireplace, kitchen area, and a three-bedroom guesthouse with ocean views.
It is unclear whether Perry and Bloom moved into the home after they officially gained access to the property in May 2024. The couple originally purchased the 9,285-square-foot property to raise their daughter, Daisy Dove.

PEOPLE confirms that Perry and Bloom called off their six-year engagement in June, ending their nine-year relationship.
In a statement shared with PEOPLE, reps for the couple said the couple has “transformed their relationship in recent months to focus on co-parenting.”
“They will continue to be seen as a family, as their shared priorities are and will be to raise their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect.”
