Streaming platform Zeam is expanding its original content to include a live Thanksgiving telecast featuring comedians taking on a hallowed holiday tradition: the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade.
“Friendzgiving — A Version of the Parade” is scheduled to air from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. ET and will include reporting on the parade route from Dale Badway, host of Zeam’s “Laughing Boy Live” series. The four hosts will try to make the most of Thanksgiving on the road as touring comedians while cooking a holiday dinner together.
The “Friendzgiving” special is another Zeam effort to showcase the hyperlocal streaming platform with original content, leveraging its ability to easily host live streams from locations large and small across the United States. This summer, Zeam had Young and fellow comedian Brett Ernst take part in five consecutive days of livestream events, traveling from venue to venue.
Zeam established a production facility in New York’s Times Square to help comedians and touring performers generate content. Stamos, a veteran actor, producer and musician, has been hired by Zeam as chief innovation officer. Stamos is working with Zeam CEO Jack Perry and his many connections in comedy, television, and music to explore new uses for the Zeam platform.
“The future of entertainment is a living process. It’s about innovation, not product or rebellion. And our new production, Friendsgiving – A Version of the Parade, not only entertains audiences as they prepare for their Thanksgiving feast, but also demonstrates the power of live. There’s no polish. There’s no pretense. It’s just real-time life.”
Perry founded Zeam in 2009 as Syncbak. The company is an early provider of live stream technology and related backend support for media and entertainment giants, and its customers include Paramount, Apple TV, Hulu, Amazon, NFL, Roku, and more. It also handles live streams from numerous local broadcast television stations, making the Zeam platform your one-stop shopping for accessing local news broadcasts across the country. Syncbak was rebranded to Zeam in 2024.
