The Dear Zoe star elaborated on the fact that her first kiss took place while filming Stranger Things, telling W in 2023: “It was awkward for both of us, but it was funny because all our friends were there and there was lots of extras and lights and music. I was nervous at the time, but looking back on it now, I can laugh about it.”

Singer Gracie Abrams mentioned sync in a song on her 2024 album, The Secret of Us, Harper’s Bazaar reports. On “Cool,” which is said to be about Abrams’ own rumored romance with O’Brien, she sings, “I wish I didn’t, but I knew too much/You stopped me when Sadie and Sarah opened up/I wasted mascara, I thought we wouldn’t talk/I was wrong.”
