NBC’s country music holiday special “Christmas in Nashville” has announced its lineup and host, three-time Grammy Award winner Trisha Yearwood.
The two-hour telecast, which will air Dec. 3 at 10 p.m., will feature performances of holiday classics by Bill Murray & His Blood Brothers, Lauren Alaina, Ne-Yo, War and Treaty, and Trace Adkins. It will be available to stream on Peacock the next day.
The special was filmed in front of a live audience at a Category 10 venue in Nashville. Jesse Collins Entertainment will serve as executive producer.
“Christmas in Nashville” will air on December 3 at 8pm ET, following NBC’s annual “Christmas at Rockefeller Center” special. Reba McEntire will host and appear on the two-hour holiday special, along with Marc Anthony, Hallie Bailey, Michael Bublé, Kristin Chenoweth, Laufey, New Edition, Brad Paisley, Carly Pearce, Radio City Rockettes and Gwen Stefani. There will also be a tree lighting by Today anchors Savannah Guthrie, Craig Melvin and Al Roker.
NBC’s holiday programming also includes the annual “Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade,” “Jimmy Fallon’s Holiday Seasoning Spectacular” and the Thanksgiving and Christmas specials “Saturday Night Live.” “Motown Christmas,” airing Dec. 9 at 9 p.m., will be hosted by Smokey Robinson and Halle Bailey and will feature performances by Motown legends and contemporary music stars.
Throughout December, NBC will also air popular holiday shows such as “Frosty the Snowman” and “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” on December 4th, “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” on December 5th, “Shrek the Hall” on December 9th, and “It’s a Wonderful Life” on December 24th.
