Christopher and Ashley have been married for almost 10 years.
The pair were first spotted dating in 2012 and got engaged eight months later on top of the Empire State Building. The couple had a simple ceremony on September 8, 2014 in Santa Barbara, California. Vanessa Hudgens served as one of Ashley’s six bridesmaids.
Christopher celebrated the couple’s 6th wedding anniversary on Instagram, sharing a photo from their wedding day. “6 years. So many moments that I can look at concretely, so many tiny, fragile little moments. Some wonderful, beautiful, bright moments, some hard, cloudy, difficult moments… We’re just getting closer. I truly can’t imagine life without @ashleytisdale. I love you forever, Happy Anniversary ✨❤️✨ (@eliastahan favorite 📸, thank you brother),” he captioned the post.
It was love at first sight for the couple.
The pair got engaged after dating for less than a year, but Ashley said she knew Christopher was the one for much longer. In a 2013 interview with Ryan Seacrest, she explained: “I’ve obviously been in long relationships in the past, but I knew what I wanted and I don’t think I would have gotten into a relationship if it wasn’t what I wanted. I think from the moment he and I met, I knew that. I thought, ‘Okay, this is the person,’ and he knew the same thing. It doesn’t get any better than this. I can’t explain it.”
The couple has been on a roll ever since, and they shared a particularly sweet moment together in December 2019. Ashley captured Christopher’s reaction to watching High School Musical 2 for the first time on her Instagram Story.

On December 28, 2023, she shared a photo of Christopher and Jupiter together and wrote, “My two favorite people in the whole world ❤️.”
Christopher is a music composer for television series and films.
He may not have been a fan of High School Musical, but the couple share a musical sensibility. Christopher is a music producer and has composed songs for several films and television shows. In particular, he composed the theme music for the Freeform series “Young and Hungry,” for which Ashley served as executive producer. He also composed the music for the snap show “The Dead Girls Detective Agency.”

Throughout their marriage, Ashley and Christopher have collaborated musically. He produced the song “You’re Always Here” for his then-fiancée in 2013. And in 2016, Christopher began appearing on Ashley’s Music Sessions series on her YouTube channel. Sometimes he would accompany his wife while she sang duets with Vanessa Hudgens and Lea Michele. The couple has also performed duets on songs such as Paramore’s “Still Into You” and Julia Michaels’ “Issues.”
He was also the lead singer of the alternative rock band Annie Automatic.
Christopher has loved music for many years. According to his website bio, Christopher was born in Northern California and began playing guitar as a teenager, touring with alternative rock bands. He studied film scoring and orchestration at the Musicians Institute for Recording Engineering and Berklee College of Music in Los Angeles.
In 2009, Christopher founded Annie Automatic. The band’s music catalog can be found on Spotify, and includes a duet the group recorded with Christopher’s ex-girlfriend Kaley Cuoco.

Before dating Ashley, Christopher was rumored to be dating Kaley Cuoco from The Big Bang Theory. According to Us Weekly, the two dated for about a year before breaking up in 2012. During their relationship, the two reportedly attended the People’s Choice Awards and Golden Globes afterparties together.
He is a big dog person.
When Christopher isn’t composing, he spends time with the couple’s two dogs. Scroll through Christopher’s Instagram and his love for pets is evident. In fact, Ziggy Stardust and Sushi Sue both have their own Instagram accounts, with Ashley and Christopher listed as their parents.
He and Ashley became parents to daughter Jupiter in March 2021.
Ashley wrote in a candid Instagram post about welcoming her daughter Jupiter Iris French: “Wow, it’s already been a week?? My baby is a week old? They say it takes a village, but it really does. I had an amazing birth experience. Of course it was painless. But I set my intention that morning, and it was exactly the way I wanted Jupiter to come into the world: calm, peaceful, fearless, and in the highest possible state of being. Honestly, I wouldn’t have had that mindset without my amazing doula.” @lbreggy, she was a game changer. But her presence calms you down. I believed that I could let go of any fear because I knew that if something happened she could handle it. And of course I looked at him when I was in the most pain and could see he was scared. It was amazing for both @cmfrench and I to see women supporting me. And then my life changed. ”
The couple announced on March 26, 2024 that they are expecting their second child.
Ashley shared the news of her and Christopher’s addition to the family with a simple pregnancy announcement on Instagram. “Can’t wait to meet you 💫,” she wrote to her second child.
Christopher also shared a photo, writing, “Beyond grateful. Thank you to my beautiful love @ashleytisdale for raising another French baby 💘.”
Ashley welcomed her second daughter, Emerson, on September 6, 2024.
Ashley quickly announced the news that she and Christopher were expecting their second child. The day after giving birth, she wrote on Instagram, “Emerson Clover French, all 3 of us are crazy about you. She landed on 9.6.24 🍀,” with Ashley, Christopher, and eldest daughter Jupiter all holding Emerson’s hand in the first shot.
In November 2025, Ashley announced that she would be using her married name, Ashley French, for professional purposes.
In a recent video posted to Instagram, Ashley explained that she plans to use her married name, Ashley French, professionally from now on. “I’ve been Ashley French for a long time at home,” she prefaced. “But I’ve never publicly changed[my name]because everyone knows me as Ashley Tisdale. I felt it was time for people to know me and not just as a character or a celebrity.”
