Nikki Glazer began her “SNL” monologue with an ode to the Big Apple. “I’m here in Epstein’s original island, New York City!”
Later in her monologue, she talked about her Gen Z friends who are “very afraid of being trafficked,” before returning to the topic of the notorious sex offender and his accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell.
“When I was in my 20s, I was just scared of good old-fashioned rape. We never thought it would be a job. We never thought it would be anything more than a temporary job on the futon in our apartment,” said Glaser, 41. “They say, ‘We think you’re our madam, so you’re safer with us. You’re wearing the face of Ghislaine at rest, so keep doing that,'” he said.
Glaser didn’t shy away from taboo topics during his monologue, but later he jokingly worried that he was a pedophile while telling a story about how his 4-year-old nephew wanted to take a shower with him.
“My sister said, ‘You can take a shower with me. It’s okay. He’ll take a shower with you, too,'” she said. “‘Okay, you guys are fine with that, but is it okay for an adult to take a shower with a child? … What if I sexually abuse him?’ She was like, ‘You do that?’ I was like, “No!” I would never do that! I don’t like that! But if you’re going to do that, I’d say so. ”
“Don’t believe anyone. I don’t even believe in myself,” Glaser continued. “I don’t want to go into that. How do you become a pedophile? You don’t get to choose what you’re into. What if it’s like, you don’t know who you are until you’re in it? And you think, ‘This is mine,’ and a part of your brain opens up? I know it sounds crazy, but there were a lot of times in my life where I thought, ‘I’d never do that.’ And now I’m like, ‘Actually, that sounds kind of fun.’
Glazer also joked about Donald Trump’s “orange” tan.
“He chose an insane shade. It was pretty dark,” she said. “He didn’t turn into Kamala, but he chose a shade that half of America would say, ‘Okay, you can still tell he’s white.'”
“It’s kind of insane that a white person would paint on their own skin,” Glazer continued, this time making fun of her own spray tan. “I feel like that’s cultural appropriation. I don’t get it. I mean, it’s not blackface, but it’s Guatemalan feet. This isn’t my feet. I’m like, ‘Oh my god, my Ramo is Nikki!'” Am I right in saying that? ”
Glaser is a first-time “SNL” host. Next year, she will host the Golden Globe Awards for the second year in a row. Hulu will also premiere Glaser’s comedy special, which was recorded in October.
Sombre was a musical guest during Glazer’s episode, which was also his first appearance on the show.
