Kim Kardashian’s new courtroom drama ‘All’s Fair’ has been poorly received by critics.
The new series, directed by Ryan Murphy and starring Teyana Taylor, Niecy Nash, Sarah Paulson, and Glenn Close, has a 0 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes as of press time. (Note: At this time, only reviews from eight critics on Rotten Tomatoes were included.)
Additionally, the Hulu show in which Kardashian plays formidable divorce lawyer Alura Grant was panned by multiple critics.
USA Today’s Kelly Lawler called the show “the worst TV show of the year,” and The Hollywood Reporter’s television critic Angie Hung called it “brain-dead.”
Han also said that Kardashian’s performance was “stiff and emotionless, with no real sound whatsoever. … Her very presence, so successful at generating buzz, feels appropriate for a show that seems less likely to be seen than mined for viral snippets.”
Lucy Mangan of the Guardian wrote, “I didn’t know it was still possible to make television this bad.”
Ed Power of the Daily Telegraph gave All’s Fair a one-star rating, slamming Murphy in his review and calling the creator of American Horror Story “a sleazy, tasteless TV high priest”.
Page Six reached out to representatives for Kardashian and Murphy for comment, but did not immediately receive a response.
Despite the criticism, the show has topped streaming charts and fans are raving about it on social media.
One user tweeted, “The All’s Fair series is fun, city, female led, high fashion, bad writing, bad acting, and believe it or not, Kim K isn’t the worst part of it. Ryan Murphy did it again while sitting down.”
“This show is a great drama and the cast is iconic. #Allsfair is funny, camp, and full of interesting female stories. Critics want to hate it because of Kim, but I hope fans and viewers give it a chance. Also, there are some fun cameos,” another user added.
“It’s so sad that #AllsFair is a victim of sexism. It’s a show that isn’t afraid to be bad, and it reminded me of old ABC dramas. It’s such a fun show because you can watch excess and bad without any qualms. That’s great,” a third netizen claimed.
“I watched all three episodes of ‘All’s Fair’ and I have to say I loved it. Allura Grant is a fucking badass,” said a fourth supporter.
Episodes 1 to 3 of “All’s Fair” are currently available on Hulu. New episodes will be released on Tuesdays at midnight Eastern time.
