As the Trump administration threatens to withhold SNAP benefits from Americans in need, “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” launches a food drive to support the Los Angeles Food Bank and St. Joseph Center. The LA Food Bank’s mission is to “mobilize resources to fight hunger in our communities,” and the St. Joseph Center helps “working poor families and people experiencing homelessness achieve stability and self-sufficiency.”
As the Trump administration’s government shutdown nears a record 36 days, uncertainty remains over whether the 42 million Americans who rely on food stamp payments will ever receive those benefits.
“Reductions in SNAP benefits create uncertainty for America’s children, seniors, and families. To support local residents in need, we are launching a donation center in the Hollywood backlot to benefit @LAFoodBank and @StJosephCtr. Details below. If you live in Los Angeles, come donate food. If you don’t, please consider supporting your local food bank.”
Called “The Jimmy Kimmel Live Big, Beautiful Food Bank,” donations will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Address 6901 Hawthorn Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90028.
According to the program, the most needed foods are low-sodium soups/chili/stews, tuna/chicken/salmon (canned or pouched), nut butters, low-carb cereals, protein bars, whole-grain pasta, and rice.
Crackers, trail mix, fruit snacks, boxes of 100% juice, dried fruit, UHT milk, boxes of cereal, wipes, diapers, facial cleansers, deodorant, soaps, lotions, oral hygiene products, and feminine products are also requested.

In January, Jimmy Kimmel Live also turned the parking lot behind the show’s studio, which normally hosts live outdoor music, into a donation site to help Angelenos affected by the LA fires.
