Chris Martin is watching “Sparks,” starring Sophie Turner.
Sources say the Coldplay frontman, 48, and the actress, 29, are both moving on from their previous relationships and have gone on multiple dates.
“They went on a few dates in London,” a source told Us Weekly on Monday. “It’s still very new, but they have a lot of chemistry and there’s a definite spark between them.”
“They have a lot in common and Chris is definitely her type,” they continued. “They have bonded over their Britishness and their love of music.”
The source added that the duo first “met by chance many years ago” — when Turner was still married to Joe Jonas — because they had “mutual friends in the music industry.”
“He was always friendly,” the source said. “Sophie has always admired Chris and was a huge fan of him and his music long before they met.”
“She even joked that she used to have a bit of a crush on him, so it’s funny and surreal that they actually became romantically involved in real life.”
Both Martin and Turner are newly single after years of dating. Turner reportedly ended his two-year on-and-off relationship with Peregrine Pearson in late September.
According to the Daily Mail, Turner and Pearson, a British aristocrat, attended a high-society wedding together and were seen “arguing and bickering among enthusiastic snogs on the dance floor” before breaking up.
A week later, Turner and Martin reportedly went on a “secret date,” but that wasn’t their last.
Turner and Pearson, 31, were first spotted dating in October 2023, and were spotted making out a month after Jonas filed for divorce after four years of marriage.
They appeared to have broken up in April after Turner unfollowed Pearson on Instagram and shared cryptic posts, but by late June they were back together and were even spotted openly showing affection while attending Glastonbury.
As for Martin, news broke in June that he and Dakota Johnson had broken up for good after nearly eight years together and an engagement.
He was previously married to Gwyneth Paltrow and they have two children together, Apple, 21, and Moses, 19.
Ms. Turner is also a mother of two children. She has daughters Willa, 5, and Delphine, 3, with Jonas.
The “Game of Thrones” star’s resurfaced clip confirms her longstanding admiration for Martin.
In the 2020 video, Turner’s then-husband Jonas, 36, hands his wife his phone and tells her, “There’s someone I want to say ‘Happy Birthday to.'”
When Turner got the call, his face lit up with excitement and he yelled, “Chris Martin!”
After the ‘Fix You’ hitmaker finished wishing Turner a warm birthday, she made sure to blow him a kiss over the phone.
