Season 13 of American Horror Story will be a big hit.
Ariana Grande has been cast in the latest installment of the FX anthology series, reuniting her with series creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk since appearing in the short-lived horror-comedy series Scream Queens a decade ago.
Additionally, season 13 will see the return of series regulars including Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, and Leslie Grossman. (Roberts and Lard also appeared on “Scream Queens” with Grande.)
The news came from Ryan Murphy Productions’ Instagram page, which posted a video of the cast members’ names written in American Horror Story’s signature font on a black screen while Vera Lynn’s cover of “I’ll Be Seeing You” plays.
Lange’s casting is particularly notable, as the fan-favorite hasn’t appeared on American Horror Story since 2018’s Season 8, “Apocalypse.” The same goes for Bassett, Bates, and Sidibe, but Peters and Paulson last appeared in a “double feature” in Season 10 of 2021.
With so many past stars reuniting, fans are speculating that Season 13 will return to the story of previous seasons, especially 2013’s Season 3, “Coven.” “American Horror Story” previously reprized characters from previous films in the “Coven” crossover “Apocalypse,” 2011’s “Murder House” (Season 1) and 2015’s “Hotel” (Season 5).
Season 12 of “American Horror Story” was titled “Delicate” and aired on FX from September 2023 to April 2024. The cast included Roberts, Lard, Grossman, Kim Kardashian, Matt Czuchry, Annabelle Dexter-Jones, Michaela Jay Rodriguez, Denis O’Hare, Cara Delevingne, Julie White, and Mars Ali. 20th Television produces “American Horror Story.”
