Charlie Sheen has clarified recent comments about having relationships with men in the midst of drug addiction.
The actor explained on Wednesday’s “In Depth with Graham Bensinger” podcast that sex is a “broad category” and insisted that his encounter wasn’t as “graphic” as some might think.
The Golden Globe winner noted that people who watched his “Aka Charlie Sheen” documentary last month may have “immediately” considered sex after hearing his confession.
“I don’t want to be like, ‘Okay, I did this and this part of it and this didn’t happen,’ but that didn’t happen,” the “Two and a Half Men” alum insisted. “I don’t know if that matters.”
The scene emphasized that the sex was not “serious.”
He added, “They say you do experiments in college, right? I’ve never been to college, so maybe that explains it.”
The Emmy nominee told People in September how “liberating” it felt to speak candidly about “flipping the menu” in the past.
“The train didn’t come by the restaurant,” he said of his public confession. “No fucking piano fell from the sky. No one jumped into the room and shot me.”
Sheen also documented exactly what started her relationship with the man: crack addiction.
“That’s where it was born or sparked,” the “Platoon” star recalled to the outlet. “And any part of the time that I was away from the pipes, (I was) trying to get through it, trying to come to terms with it.”
Mr. Sheen remembers asking himself, “Where did that come from? … Why did it happen?”
But in the end, he decided to adopt a “so what?” mentality. How we think about experience since “life goes on.”
He joked, “Some of it was weird, but mostly it was a lot of fun.”
Sheen, who was infected with HIV and made his diagnosis public in 2015, revealed numerous secrets in both the documentary and memoir, The Book of Sheen.
In the latter, the “Red Dawn” star reflected on things like losing her virginity and being single for nearly 10 years.
