Bleecker Street, the Oscar-nominated indie film producer behind Captain Fantastic and The Wedding Banquet, has launched a bespoke distribution arm, Crosswalk.

Integrated into Bleecker Street’s infrastructure, Crosswalk will focus on releasing content in two key areas. These include in-person experiences brought to the big screen through event film releases and partnership distribution. Initial titles in the new category include Rob Reiner’s Spinal Tap at Stonehenge: The Final Finale, produced by Vertigo Live, and SXSW-winning director Amy Wang’s debut feature Slanted.

Crosswalk will also release music concert documentaries and live Broadway captures following the success of Bleecker’s 2023 release of Waitress: The Musical. Crosswalk intends to release five to six titles a year alongside Bleecker’s traditional theatrical release. Additional titles will be announced soon.

Crosswalk gives output partners access to Bleecker’s home entertainment infrastructure and select theatrical titles. The department will continue to build its team over the coming months to support expanded plans and partnerships.

“I am extremely proud of what Bleecker has built over the past 11 years and continues to build,” said Bleecker Street CEO Kent Sanderson. “Crosswalk is an important part of our growth plans and represents an exciting new chapter for the company. Through this division, we are expanding the way we share our films and exploring creative ways to bring our content to audiences, whether it’s theatrical release, event-driven release, or strategic partnerships.”

Bleecker Street recently released Reiner’s Spinal Tap II: The End Continues and the horror thriller Bone Lake. Upcoming releases include Max Walker-Silverman’s Sundance hit Rebuilding, starring Josh O’Connor, and British period drama parody Fackham Hall, starring Damian Lewis, Thomasin McKenzie and Katherine Waterston. The 2026 slate includes the recently announced untitled action-comedy feature starring RuPaul and directed by Adam Shankman, The Mask, directed by tech entrepreneur and Tesla founder Alex Gibney, and the next untitled feature from Mike Leigh.
