Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande brought magic to an awkward moment.
The Wicked stars rushed to the fans’ aid when a glass of champagne spilled on them while taking a group photo at the film’s European premiere. The moment was captured in a viral video on the TikTok account of a fan known as Tricia the Angel.
The influencer shared how her “most embarrassing moment” turned into “one of the kindest moments” in a post on Thursday, Oct. 30.
In her video, which has been viewed more than 500,000 times in less than 12 hours, Tricia explained that she was chosen to meet Grande, 32, and Erivo, 38, at the European premiere of Wicked last year.
“I was so excited. I got to meet two of my favorite icons,” she says in the video, as she stands among her co-stars for a photo shoot.
Tricia said things were going well “until it came time to take the group photo.”
Everyone was smiling when suddenly someone standing behind Tricia raised a glass of champagne and it fell on Tricia’s head. The glass then fell to the ground.
“While I was saying ‘cheese,’ this glass spilled on my head!” Tricia said.
Video of the incident shows Tricia screaming and wincing as champagne drips from her hair to her eyes and onto her face. Everyone, including Grande and Erivo, jumped and looked around as voices overlapped asking what was going on.
Erivo and Grande then take action. “Tissues! I need tissues right now,” Erivo said as he moved away from the group to find something to wipe Tricia with.
Meanwhile, Grande steers fans away from the group as staff gather around the pair to support them. “Are you okay?” the “Positions” singer asks Tricia.
While sharing her experience, the TikToker recalled feeling “something warm” entering her eyes.

“I also wear mascara and makeup, so all of a sudden my eyes started burning from the alcohol mixed in with my mascara,” Tricia said.
She called herself a “scared cat” and a “crybaby” before saying: “I don’t know what’s going on. I can’t see so I start to panic a little bit.”
What happened next was “the most amazing thing.”
“I closed my eyes and it was burning, and I felt someone hug me, and they were like, ‘This is Cynthia Erivo, we’re going to find you a chair right now, are you okay? It’s okay,'” Tricia said.
In her video, the influencer expressed her excitement that the star cared for her, but said she started crying because her eyes were still hot from the champagne and she was also “embarrassed.”
“And I’m African, so I didn’t know what landed on my head. I didn’t know it was champagne at the time. For all I know, it could have been acid, okay?” she continued.
Tricia added the following about her feelings at the time of the leak. “I don’t know if my eyes are okay, and I’m a little embarrassed because it seems like I’m the only one affected by this incident.”
She still had her eyes closed as people wiped the liquid off her, but she said she “obviously” recognized Grande and Erivo’s voices and knew the actresses had been with her the whole time.
“They were both so sweet and kind and took the time to comfort me until I felt better,” the influencer said.

Tricia said Grande told her she could cancel the European premiere because she was worried the dress would be ruined.
When Tricia laughed and asked Grande if she would really do that, Grande claimed she was joking, saying, “Yeah, I know a guy.”
“Ariana Grande wiped me clean,” Tricia said in the four-minute video, before adding, “They stood by me during one of the most embarrassing moments of my life.”

Tricia thanked them both, telling her followers: “If you weren’t planning on watching ‘Wicked: Part 2,’ I hope this video inspires you to watch ‘Wicked: Part 2,’ because these lovely women are just as beautiful on the outside as they are on the inside.”
“Wicked: For Good” will be released in theaters on November 21st.
