Sydney Sweeney was a good sport when the comedian made a joke about her breasts.
While enjoying a date night with Scooter Braun at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles on Tuesday, the “Euphoria” star sat front row center while Eric Griffin talked about taking off his top on his HBO show.
The 53-year-old quipped that Sweeney’s breasts, which play Kathy Howard, “are always sticking out for no reason.”
Griffin quipped that the Emmy nominee filmed Santo Top “in a pharmacy,” adding, “It’s wild.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sweeney and Brown were equally furious.
The newspaper noted that it was unclear whether Mr. Griffin was aware that the couple, who were reportedly holding hands under the table throughout the show, was in the audience.
He took the stage before headliner Matt Rife, after Jackson McQueen called Sweeney and Brown’s seating area the “GroupOn section.”
Earlier in the day, Sweeney had just finished a World Series trip with boxer Christy Martin, who he played in the biopic “Christie.”
The White Lotus alum, who has been romantically linked to Brown since September, bared her whole body the following night in a sparkling sheer dress designed by Christian Cowan.
The “Anyone But You” star gave a speech Wednesday at Variety’s 2025 Power of Women event dedicated to Martin, about being “defined” by others and “undervalued” in the industry.
Sweeney has been open about filming her topless Euphoria scenes for years, revealing to The Independent in January 2022 that she had requested that the scenes be cut because she didn’t feel they were “necessary.”
“I never felt like[creator]Sam[Levinson]was pushing me or trying to bring nude scenes into the HBO show,” she explained.
“He didn’t make me when I didn’t want to,” Sweeney continued, adding that she was “very proud” of her work on the series despite the stigma surrounding it.
“Even when men do sex scenes and show their bodies, they still get awards and accolades,” she pointed out. “But the moment a girl does it, it’s completely different.”
Sweeney also applauded the “disrespectful and deplorable” troll who tagged her brother Trent Sweeney in nude photos of her online.
She further emphasized this point in a November 2022 interview with GQ, saying, “They went so far as to tag my family. My cousins don’t need that. It’s totally disgusting and unfair.”
At the time, Sweeney said she felt “ostracized” for “having boobs before other girls” when she was younger.
“I was embarrassed and didn’t want to change in the locker room. I think I took on this weird persona that other people had about me because of my body type,” the “Handmaid’s Tale” alum recalled.
“So I played every sport, I studied hard, I did all the things I never thought I would do to show that my body doesn’t define me.”
