Disney’s “Springsteen: Delivered From Anywhere” debuted at No. 1 in the UK and Ireland with 1.3 million pounds ($1.75 million), according to ComScore.
Portrait of Bruce Springsteen narrowly edged out Paramount’s “Regret You” to take second place with $1.71 million, while Sony Pictures’ animated feature “Chainsaw Man: The Movie: The Movie” came in third with $1.4 million.
Universal held two slots in the middle of the chart. Family title “Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie” drops to fourth place with $1.1 million for a total of $4.3 million, while horror sequel “The Black Phone 2” ranks fifth with $842,806 and has totaled $3.1 million to date.
Further down the list, Studiocanal’s “I Swear” ranked sixth with $792,645, and Warner Bros.’ “I Swear” ranked sixth. “One Battle After Another” came in seventh place with $644,540, pushing it to a record high of $14.2 million. Altitude Film Distribution’s “Pets On A Train” came in at No. 8 with $593,370.
Disney’s “Tron: Ares” remained in ninth place with $512,674 and a total of $5.5 million, while Paramount’s “Roofman” rounded out the top 10 with $410,052 and reached $1.8 million.
With a mix of Halloween-adjacent programmes, musical events, revivals and a wide range of commercial releases, this week’s UK and Ireland schedule offers viewers an eclectic mix.
The week begins on Tuesday, October 28th with Trafalgar Releasing’s one-night-only release concert title: “Depeche Mode: M.” Wednesday brings a mix of sports and suspense. Altitude will be releasing a profile of Asif Kapadia’s football icon ‘Kenny Dalglish’, as well as director Chris Stuckman’s horror thriller ‘Shelby Oaks’, which is about a disappearance from decades ago.
Thursday offers a different flavor with “Bat Out of Hell – The Musical,” a screen capture of the rock-driven stage production via CinemaLive.
The largest number of deliveries will occur on Friday, October 31st. Universal is leading with Yorgos Lanthimos’ Bugonia, which is opening in more than 300 screens. The studio will also be releasing a 40th anniversary reissue of “Back to the Future.” Arthouse audiences will be treated to Radu Jude’s Continental ’25, which will be released in more than 25 screens through Sovereign. Relay, directed by David McKenzie and starring Riz Ahmed, Lily James and Sam Worthington, is also listed on over 300 sites.
With more diversity across the board, including the Punjabi film Ikk Kudi (Moviegoers Entertainment), another Punjabi title Madhaniyan, and a multiplex of the hit series Baahubali: The Epic (both Bakrania Media), Curzon brought out the critically acclaimed Palestine 36 to open Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters. It has been shown on over 100 screens and continues to be a blockbuster phenomenon.
