Fans of Paradise are probably wondering if the new drama will be returning to Hulu after the huge success of season 1. The finale alone drew 6.3 million viewers on the streaming platform, and the show’s first season just aired weekly on ABC. With such a reception, can we expect another season of Paradise?The answer is a resounding yes.

Has Paradise been renewed for season 2?
On February 20, 2025, the show’s official Instagram account announced that the series had been renewed with a video featuring Sterling K. Brown. In the short clip, Brown responds to the comment that “one season is not enough.” He seems to agree:
What will Paradise Season 2 be about?
The first season followed Brown’s character, Secret Service agent Xavier Collins. Dan Fogelman’s political thriller is set in the aftermath of an apocalyptic event in which the survivors are forced to live in a city-sized bunker. Collins is tasked with protecting President Cal Bradford (James Marsden), but Bradford’s murder disrupts not only Collins’ life, but the entire seemingly perfect community. As he pursues the culprit, his detective work uncovers more and more secrets that destroy the image of the world as he knows it.
On July 22, Brown hinted at the plot of Season 2, telling Entertainment Weekly, “Xavier has gone out into the world.” “He’s looking for his wife. He’s trying to find her. Is she alive? Is she not alive? Will she be found? Will she not be found? We see how people who had no means and no plan, like the people in the bunker, have survived. They have made a path. It seems decidedly unorganized, but it is a path. We meet good people. We meet evil people.”
He also revealed that there are two different parts to the story. “The season is split between Xavier exploring what’s on the outside and what continues to happen on the inside after the scuffle that happens between Sinatra and Jane.”
Who is the cast of Paradise Season 2?
In addition to Brown as Agent Xavier Collins, Paradise Season 1 featured James Marsden as President Bradford. They will be joined by Julianne Nicholson, Sarah Shahi, Nicole Brydon Bloom, Aliyah Mastin, and Percy Daggs IV.
Fogelman is also the creator of “This Is Us,” which created one of Brown’s biggest roles. The actor said on Late Night with Seth Meyers earlier this year that Fogelman had asked him to appear in Paradise in 2022.
“I’ve read 106 of his scripts and loved them all. This is 107 and I loved that,” Brown said. “He said, “If you like it, let me know.” I called him back and said, “I’ll be there.” ”
A new addition to the cast is Shailene Woodley (Big Little Lies, Divergent). She will reportedly play a “key recurring role” in the Season 1 finale as a “prominent survivor” of Agent Xavier’s mission. When asked what it was like to work with Woodley, Brown called her a “friend.”
“It’s always great to hire great people to do their job, but it’s even better when you actually make friends,” he said. “She’s kind, honest, open, ready to play and very professional. I expected all of those things from her. But meeting her and being able to play with her in the sandbox was all that and more. She’s outstanding.”
Thomas Doherty (Tell Me Rise) will also join the cast for season 2 as a “key recurring character,” Deadline reported. He is said to be playing Link, a “biker gang leader” involved in the Xavier arc, which begins in the season 1 finale. According to the outlet, he may continue in the role if the show is renewed for a third season. Hulu has not yet commented.
Michael McGrady (The Perfect Couple) and Timothy Omundson (Psycho) will also join the cast for Season 2 as recurring characters with ties to Agent Xavier Collins, Deadline reported.
According to Variety, Ryan Michelle Barthe (also Brown’s wife) will guest star in season 2. Her character and story have not been revealed yet.
And although Marsden died in season 1, Brown said we’ll still be able to see him in flashbacks. “We’re going to look at Marsden a little bit more closely,” he told EW. “We get a chance to see him in different eras. So it’s great. It’s really cool.”
According to Deadline, Patrick Fischler (American Fiction, Mad Men) will also join the cast for Season 2 in a “key guest starring role.” Details of his exact role have not yet been revealed, but the outlet reports that Fischler will play “a brilliant professor trying to balance work with a quietly challenging personal life.”
Has production begun on Paradise Season 2?
No official schedule has been announced, but on March 4, Fogelman responded to fans on X (formerly Twitter) regarding production plans.
“Please don’t wait 2 years for season 2 of Paradise @hulu,” one concerned viewer wrote.
Fogelman quoted their comments on Twitter and replied, “Starting filming in just a few weeks. I promise it won’t take 2 years! #Paradise.”
On April 21, Paradise’s official account revealed that production had begun and that Woodley was officially part of the cast for season 2. She and Brown shower each other with compliments in the playful video.
Can I see the teaser?
On July 22nd, EW released an exclusive first look image of season 2, where we get a glimpse of Woodley and Doherty’s characters.
According to Deadline, a sneak peek of the new season starring Woodley aired on July 26th during a panel discussion at San Diego Comic-Con. The clip opens the episode with Woodley working at Graceland before the disaster that wiped out much of humanity. Later, she receives news of a tsunami and ends up in an underground bunker on the premises.
The actress also appeared on a panel after her clip aired.
