Shabouzi supports Bad Bunny ahead of the upcoming Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show “When a Bad Bunny song comes on, the whole place erupts,” says the “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” artist Bad Bunny was announced as a performer at the 2026 Super Bowl last month

Bad Bunny is looking forward to Bad Bunny’s Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show.

The Puerto Rican superstar (real name Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio) was announced as a performer for the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show last month, drawing mixed reactions from figures in entertainment, politics and beyond, but the “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” artist is looking forward to it.

“I think it’s great,” Shabouzy told Billboard in a recent interview. “I think Bad Bunny is amazing. I think he’s a global superstar, a global icon, and an American citizen. I couldn’t have asked for a better choice.”

He predicted the show would be “crazy,” adding, “Every time a Bad Bunny song comes on, the whole place goes wild.”

The NFL has announced Bad Bunny’s upcoming performance for the Dallas Cowboys vs. Green Bay Packers game on Sunday, September 28th.

Bad Bunny talked about the halftime show in a post shared with X, writing, “I’ve been thinking about it lately and after talking it over with my team, I think we’ll only do one show in America.”

The DTMF artist previously announced that he would be canceling his domestic tour with the Debi Tilal Mas Fotos World Tour due to President Donald Trump’s use of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to crack down on immigration.

Following the announcement of Bad Bunny’s Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show, Corey Lewandowski, one of President Donald Trump’s former campaign staffers who now supports the Department of Homeland Security, said ICE agents will be attending the big game.

“There is no place that can provide safe haven for people who are in this country illegally,” Lewandowski said on the Oct. 1 episode of the podcast “The Benny Show.” “Not at the Super Bowl or anywhere else. We’re going to find you, arrest you, put you in a detention facility and deport you.”

A few days later, former Super Bowl performer Jennifer Lopez spoke out in an interview on the TODAY show in support of Bad Bunny. “I think he’s going to blow everyone’s mind. This is an introduction to some people,” she said.

Lopez was unaware of the controversy and questioned, “But why? I don’t understand that. He’s one of the top artists in the world right now, probably the top.”

“There might be a lot of people coming. That’s the important thing. I’m really excited for everyone to meet him,” she continued. “They’ll be pleasantly surprised, because his music transcends language. What he’s accomplished is amazing. He’s accomplished something that many people have never done in their lives.”

Super Bowl LX will be held on Sunday, February 8th at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
