Janet Yang, the first Asian American to lead the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, will conclude Taiwan Creative Content Fest with a keynote address exploring how Asian filmmakers can expand their reach in the international market.

The Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner, known for producing “The Joy Luck Club,” “Over the Moon,” and “Indictment: The McMartin Trial,” is one of more than 25 international speakers participating in the Taiwan Creative Content Agency’s annual gathering.

Jane Woo, director of the Emmy Award-winning Netflix animated series Blue Eyed Samurai, talks about her career path from storyboard artist to director and working across borders and with different production companies.

Regarding South Korea, “Moving” producers Sean Se-yoon Shim of Mr. Romance and Yeonsung Seo of A+E Global Media Korea will talk about financing and distribution strategies for international projects.

Southeast Asian platforms are sending their content chiefs to discuss acquisition priorities. Le Thuy Trang from Vietnam’s FPT Play, Komin Aoudomphan from Thailand’s True Digital Group and Roland Lee from Malaysia’s Astro will reveal what drives their programming decisions for Asian content.

A unique spotlight is cast on Japanese stories through Mika Omori, author of “I Want to Die Alone” and “Jiyu Shogun,” as well as Ken Kuranishi and Yuki Uchida, producers of NHK’s “Anpan.” Their panel will explore how historical dramas blend fact and fiction.

Three Golden Bell Best Actress nominees, Ning Zhang, Alice Ko and Alison Lin, appear together for the first time to discuss their career trajectories and the role of women both in front of and behind the camera.

TAICCA Chairman Sue Wang said the industry is being reorganized by changes in technology, business models, and investment strategies, noting that observing developments in South Korea, the United States, Japan, France, and Southeast Asia can enhance Taiwan’s international competitiveness.

The forum’s dozen sessions span topics such as different formats, IP development, and AI applications. It will be held from November 4th to 7th at the Nangang Exhibition Center in Taipei.
