Kim Kardashian spoke about the current state of her relationship with ex-husband Kanye West on Alex Cooper’s podcast Call Her Daddy. Kardashian revealed that she ended her marriage to protect her mental health and become a more present parent. She also said that although she is raising her four children full-time, she encourages a healthy relationship with her father.

On Oct. 15, the Skims founder appeared on Alex Cooper’s podcast Call Her Daddy to talk about the current state of their relationship and how they are co-parenting their four children, North, 12, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 6.
“I’m raising my kids full-time,” she said. “They live with me. I welcome a great healthy relationship with my children and their father. He knows that. I always promote it, but I protect my children when I need to. It comes in waves and stages. It’s hard work.”
When Cooper asked when West had last seen his children, Kardashian replied, “I’ll call you any time and ask. It’s probably been a few months since I’ve heard from him.”
As for how she explains such “unfortunate” moments to her children, Kardashian said, “They tell me that he used to be really into traveling and was always on tours and things like that, and that he was always living in different countries and loved living all over the place. So we manage it well. They love their lives, their routines, their schedules. My job as their mom is just to make sure they stick to their routines and stay healthy and happy.”
Kardashian also revealed that she chose to end her marriage when it began to affect her ability to be a good parent.
“If my mental health starts to take an effect and I can’t parent the way I need to, and I can’t focus and concentrate, then one of us should be able to do that,” she said. “And in order to be a better mother to everyone, I had to save myself. And I think when you guys grow up, you’ll understand that and be able to see everything.”
Kardashian and West married in 2014, but she filed for divorce in 2021, and the divorce was finalized in 2022.
