Keanu Reeves is addressing the latest speculation about his relationship with Alexandra Grant head-on.
At the New York premiere of his new film Good Fortune on October 13, the actor addressed rumors that he and Grant had secretly married. Reeves said that’s not the case, and that he’s not particularly upset by the attention.
“Well, it wasn’t the first time,” Reeves told E! news. “We’ve been out for a long time.”
He went on to praise Grant’s response to the virus claims. “A wedding, that’s a good thing,” the actor said. “People sent me lots of nice messages and stuff, but Alexandra just gave a great (job) speech like, ‘Thank you, but this is the reality.'”
The couple appeared on the red carpet hand in hand and kissed in front of photographers.
Grant had already put a stop to the marriage rumors last month. On September 24, she posted a photo of herself and Reeves kissing at Roden Crater in Arizona, writing, “This is a real photo. It’s not an engagement photo or an AI wedding announcement… It’s just a kiss!… Thank you to everyone who celebrated our wedding.” I’m sharing it here to let you know. Except we didn’t get married. Reeves and Grant, who met more than a decade ago, have been dating for several years, but have kept their relationship largely private. They have appeared together on several red carpets recently, including at Reeves’ Broadway debut in Waiting for Godot last month.
