Wendy Williams seems to be learning about her financial situation by reading the press.
The former talk show host is completely clueless about her financial situation and didn’t even know how much she was paying to live in the fanzine until she read about it in New York magazine this week, a source told Page Six.
Williams is the subject of the magazine’s latest cover story.
This article delves into her current conservatorship and her campaign to remove herself from her court-appointed conservator, Sabrina Morrissey.
The film also sheds light on some of her finances, including the $25,000 monthly rent she pays for a studio in a “high-end dump” (as Williams calls it).
Sources close to Williams said they believe she is paying $18,000 a month for the pad.
“She believes Sabrina is spending all her money. She doesn’t even know how much she’s worth,” the source said.
Due to the high rent of the residential facility, Williams is not allowed to earn an income, and we hear that her financial worries are increasing.
Financial issues are further complicated by lawsuits and legal fees, including the Morrissey case.
“She’s very worried about it. She was told “18 (thousand)” and now she’s reading “25.” They’re spending her money, like why do fanzine studios cost “$25,000 a month.” She’s furious!” the source said.
They added that Williams doesn’t even know how much Uber and taxi rides cost when he can go out to dinner in New York City.
Our sources say she receives an allowance of “$200 to $300” a week, which she uses to buy things like Twizzlers and magazines.
Williams is scheduled to testify next month in Morrissey’s lawsuit against A&E and Lifetime, accusing the networks of airing the damaging documentary “Where’s Wendy Williams?” without her consent.
One case she no longer has to worry about is the $250 million lawsuit her ex-boyfriend Kevin Hunter filed in June seeking release from conservatorship.
TMZ reported that a judge dismissed the lawsuit, which Williams previously claimed was a money grab.
In the meantime, she continues to search for vestiges of her old life, frequenting hangouts like Tucci’s and Delmonico’s.
She dined at the latter earlier this week, where patrons greeted her and sent their best wishes. “She thrives off of it. Wendy smiles from ear to ear when something like this happens. She really loves being famous, but this whole situation is definitely keeping her humble,” the source said.
I haven’t heard from Morrissey.
