Bad news for fans of “Social Network”: Andrew Garfield won’t improve his role as Facebook co-founder Eduardo Savelin in Aaron Sorkin’s follow-up “Social Recording.”

The Oscar-nominated actor, who broke out for his role in “Social Networks” in 2010, was asked by Indywire at the New York Film Festival if he would appear in upcoming sequels. “No, no,” he said: “Eduardo is having a great time in Singapore.”

After the film was immortalized in the film by the monologue of the scene-stealing “Fuck You Flip Flops” by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg (Garfield’s scene-stealing “Fuck You Flip Flops,” Rift, who relocated to Singapore in 2009 and ended in a bad relationship after causing controversy when he waived US citizenship two years later, some speculated that Savelin had made the move to avoid paying taxes, but he denied the claim, saying it was purely due to “interest in living and working in Singapore.” In 2015, he co-founded the venture capital firm B Capital, and is now Singapore’s wealthiest person.

Sorkin’s “Social Network” follow-up revealed its title “The Social Reckoning” and its release date for Friday, October 9, 2026. The Sony Pictures film stars Mikey Madison, Jeremy Allen White, Bill Burr and Jeremy Strong.

Written and directed by Sorkin, “The Social Reckoning” is described as a companion piece to “Social Networks” and takes place 20 years after the platform was founded. Facebook’s young engineer Frances Haugen (Madison) will tell the true story of how he embarks on a dangerous journey that blows the help of Wall Street Journal reporter Jeff Horwitz (White) into the most vigilant secrets of the social network.

Garfield will not return to the Facebook world, but he plans to revisit the world of technology with Luca Guadagnino’s upcoming “artificial” versions. Garfield recently collaborated with Guadagnino on the drama “After the Hunt” with Julia Roberts and Ayo Edebili.
