Pro golfer Jake Knapp’s ex-girlfriend, Makena White, had experienced heart problems before he died this week at the age of 28.
In a post shared on X dated June 2, the former medical sales representative shared a photo showing her boyfriend monitoring his performance at this year’s US Open Golf Final Qualifying Tournament.
“We dialed #GolfsLongestday,” she captioned the photo.
She tracked the tweet in another photo showing her heart rate being tracked on her Apple Watch, revealing that she is experiencing tachycardia.
“(Dialed, I mean Tachycardic) #golfslongestday,” she added.
According to Mayo Clinic, “Tachicardia is a medical term for heart rates above 100 beats per minute.”
“Tachicardia may not cause symptoms or complications. However, sometimes it is a warning of a medical condition that requires caution. Some tachycardia can lead to serious health problems if left untreated and untreated. Such problems may include heart failure, stroke, or sudden cardiac death.”
In another previous X-post shared in May, she revealed that she is suffering from her own heart disorder.
“The irony of being at the Heart Surgery Conference (for my work) while wearing a halter monitor due to your own heart defects is pretty funny,” she wrote along with a mirror selfie flaunting the monitor. She also hinted that in April she had undergone some sort of procedure – her sixth in a series of operations.
White’s death was revealed by one of her friends in an Instagram post shared on Friday to the 28-year-old’s account.
“Makena passed away earlier this week,” a friend wrote. “She’s already been deeply overlooked by her father, family, friends and of course (dogs) Nelly and Fergie.”
Her official cause of death has yet to be revealed as details surrounding her shocking passage remain unknown.
White’s boyfriend commented on the sad loss of his girlfriend in a statement given to Page 6 on Saturday, admitting that he had struggled to deal with the “stricken reality.”
“Makena was a very thoughtful person whose selflessness towards others is something I always appreciate,” said the 31-year-old PGA golfer.
“It’s an understatement to say how difficult this is all for MAK, who deserves privacy and respect during this difficult time, especially for everyone who knew her family and friends,” Knapp closed.
