Miley Cyrus told Vogue she still has two dresses from the beginning of her romance with her ex-husband Liam Hemsworth. The singer said she hopes she will “savour” some of the “beautiful moments” of the past.
Miley Cyrus has not completely turned her back on past experiences, including her long-term relationship with her ex-husband, Liam Hemsworth.
In an interview with Vogue published on September 24th, the Grammy Award winner revealed that she has been held to several personal memorabilia from her time with Hemsworth. “I literally have the dress I had when I met my ex-husband, and the one I wore on my first date,” Cyrus shared. She also said she holds items that help her “letters” and “smell these beautiful moments in my life,” adding, “but these intimate moments were also public moments, so it’s a bit difficult to decide what I’m going to do to see what I want to share.”
Cyrus and Hemsworth met for the first time in 2009 on the set of their film The Last Song. Their on-screen chemistry has transformed into a real-life romance that lasted for most of a decade. After years of breakups and settlement, Cyrus and Hemsworth got engaged in 2016 and quietly married in December 2018 at Cyrus’ Tennessee home. However, less than a year later, the couple announced their separation, and their divorce was finalized in early 2020.
In the 2023 “Previously Young” Tiktok series, Cyrus revealed that he had decided to end the marriage by the end of the marriage at the Glastonbury Festival in June 2019. “Show Day was the day I decided that I would no longer work in my life because I was in that relationship.”
Cyrus also hinted at a divorce this May, promoting her visual album, “Ponthing Beautiful.” In a Q&A for the Spotify event, she said, “And for me, when my house burned out, I think a lot of my relationships were burned out too.
Hemsworth has remained private for years since their split. However, his current fiancee, Gabriella Brooks, announced his engagement earlier this month on September 12th. Meanwhile, Cyrus is dating drummer Max Moland at the end of 2021.
The couple collaborated on the singer’s latest album, and Moland appeared in music videos for “End of the World,” “Walk of Fame,” and “Reborn.” In a 2024 interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Cyrus said, “I’ve always worked with people I love, and Maxx is a very inspiration for me.”
