Glenn Powell detailed the unpleasant moments he had in a “recently cancelled” and “toxic” celebrity.
“I showed up at the party and there were people on the ropes in terms of being cancelled,” the “Everyone” actor shared on Jake Shane’s “Serapas” podcast on Wednesday.
“It was one of those Hollywood parties like there were cameras and presses.”
He said, “This guy made some of my favorite movies and was like, ‘Oh, this is amazing.’ He showed up and said, “Nice to meet you.” I was like, “Oh, that’s such a huge fan.”
When Powell, 36, chatted with celebrities, he refused to reveal his name, the photographer asked if they would take a photo together, which he hesitated to the “twister” star.
“This person was recently cancelled and not good. I was a fan of their work, but not a fan of their choice,” he explained.
“So I’m just right. But when they wanted to take a photo with you, I realized very quickly – I recall “Oh, I don’t know if this is a good idea or not,” Powell recalls
The “Top Gun: Maverick” actor said that the celebrities “clearly recorded” his hesitation. But Powell maintained his decision.
“This guy realized his face was toxic,” he recalls. “When you go out into the world, people are having a visceral response to this person in terms of the bad choices they have made.”
Powell then compared the unknown star to the Last Holiday. Las Holiday is a character from “Chad Powers.” This disguised himself to be cancelled and joined another soccer team to revive his career.
“Lass Holiday is the guy who made a mistake. He’s not the bad guy. Some of these other people being cancelled should lie to where they were shot,” Powell insisted.
