A Keanu Reeves spokesman denied allegations that the John Wick actor secretly married his girlfriend, Alexandra Grant. Earlier this month, Radar Online claimed that the couple held an intimate wedding in Europe over the summer. On September 22nd, Reeves officials closed these rumors and told E! News in the statement, “That’s not true. They’re not married.”
Reeves and Grant were together for years, but kept most of their love stories private.
On September 3rd, Grant posted a rare Instagram homage on Reeves’ 61st birthday, sharing a photo of a heart-shaped cake decorated with his name. “Thank you to everyone who sent me a sweet wish yesterday for Keanu’s birthday… he was well known!” she wrote in the caption. “And to Keanu, who considered this post a draft! – I am so grateful for your love and partnership. Now I’m back to painting! Xo.”
The couple first met before they published their joint 2011 picture book, Ode To Happiness To Happiness, written by Reeves and written Grant Illustrated. In 2016, they teamed up again with the book Shadows the following year before co-founding publisher X Artists’ Books.
Their romantic relationship was revealed in 2019, when they debuted as a couple on LACMA Art + Film Gala. Since then, they have had some glimpses of life together. In March 2023, Reeves had a “blissful moment” with Grant, saying, “We were in bed. We had a connection. We laughed, laughed, laughed.
Later that year, Grant spoke to people about her gratitude for their partnership and Reeves’ skills. “He’s so inspiration for me.
