WWE is pumping up the patriotic spirit of America’s 250th anniversary with a new documentary special.
Variety has learned exclusively that USA Network is scheduled to air the documentary “WWE: Made in America” on May 29, immediately after the new episode of “SmackDown.” Encore presentations will then be broadcast in the U.S. throughout June and on July 4th.

According to the official logline, “WWE: Made in America” will “explore the evolution of the regional business into a global powerhouse while examining how the company has reflected the American spirit over five decades, from the patriotic heroes of the 1980s to the latest generation of Superstars who continue to further promote WWE’s American heritage.”
The special will be hosted by WWE commentator Joe Tessitore and will feature a special tribute performance of “America the Beautiful” by Nashville, Tennessee native Lilian Garcia. It will feature interviews with WWE stars such as Paul “Triple H” Levesque, Cody Rhodes, Jimmy Hart, The Undertaker, Booker T, Sgt. Slaughter, Kane, Matt Cardona, Carmelo Hayes, Nattie, Jevon Evans, Lilian Garcia, Eliel Reshef. We will also highlight rarely seen interviews from the WWE archives.
In the trailer, Levesque can be heard saying, “WWE and America go hand in hand because, in many ways, we feel like we’re America’s biggest export.”
“WWE: Made in America” directed by Matt Blaine. Levesque, Lee Fitting and Ben Houser will serve as executive producers on behalf of WWE. Brian Decker and Mark Pomarico will serve as co-executive producers.
