Six months after their first date in Montreal, Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau are going on more than just a casual date, a source tells Entertainment Tonight.
“Katie and Justin have become more serious,” the source explained. “He supports her and encourages her, so she feels more confident in herself when she’s with him.”
The source added that Trudeau really charmed Perry: “Justin came into Katy’s life at the perfect time and she’s crazy about him.”
Perry and Trudeau were first spotted together in July 2025. Perry announced his separation from ex-fiancée Orlando Bloom a few weeks ago. Love wasn’t on her radar at the time. A source told People in October, “When she first got together with Justin, she had no intention of dating, but they kept in touch. They have common interests and a lot to talk about, but Katy was going through so much that she couldn’t even think about dating at the time.”
But Trudeau was “very respectful” but still pursued her, sources said.
Fast forward to December, a source told People that the former Canadian prime minister’s efforts were paying off. “The only reason this became a reality is because Justin was so persistent,” the source explained. “When we first got together, she wasn’t looking to date and certainly wasn’t looking for a boyfriend.”
Their love story was an “exciting surprise” for Perry, the source added, “He has shown her many times that he really wants to meet her. He flies all over the world to spend time with her while she’s on tour. She loves spending time with him. She’s happy he made such a big effort and is excited to date him.”
Perry has made no secret of his feelings for Trudeau on social media. The singer shared multiple new photos in the new year. Her most recent post, shared on Feb. 10, included a photo of them on a winter trip together. “♥️Let’s make love a revolution♥️,” she captioned it.
