Pete Davidson’s neighbors at his former Staten Island condo have nothing but love for him.
Months after the Saturday Night Live alum, 32, sold his luxury waterfront pad in St. George, the president of the building’s condominium board called Davidson the “perfect neighbor” and revealed how the comic went out of his way to pay tribute to residents despite his celebrity status.
“He was polite and kind to everyone,” Christopher Campbell, president of Accolade Condominiums at 90 Bay Street Landing, told SILive.com. “If he was in an elevator and he didn’t know the person, he would introduce himself, and people just thought of him as their neighbor.”
Campbell, who lived near Davidson for several years, recalled how the “King of Staten Island” star tried to minimize disruption when high-profile guests, including ex-girlfriend Kim Kardashian, visited the building.
“When she was dating him[Kim Kardashian]she used to come here a lot…and he was thinking about the neighbors and didn’t want his entourage blocking the front door, so she would come in through the side door to be polite,” Campbell said.
“He used to bring his celebrity friends with him, so you never know who you’re going to meet in this building. Miley Cyrus was here, Kid Cudi, Machine Gun Kelly.”
In one memorable interaction, shortly after Davidson moved in, a young fan repeatedly rang Davidson’s doorbell in the middle of the night.
“Around 1 a.m., there was a young girl ringing the doorbell. I’m the president of that building,” Campbell explained.
“So I said, ‘So what do you want to do? Do you want me to talk to your mom?’ He said, ‘No, this is just a young girl, she’s excited, she’s going to realize I’m just Pete.’ And that’s exactly what happened,” Campbell continued. “He had a very kind attitude towards himself.”
The president of the condominium board later revealed that he had written a heartfelt farewell letter to Ms. Davidson.
He thanked the actor for being “friendly, approachable and respectful of everyone around him” and praised the actor for bringing a “special energy” to the building.
Davidson originally bought the 1,600-square-foot condo in 2020 for $1.2 million, but after multiple price cuts and renovations, she ultimately sold it this month at a significant loss.
The sale came amid news that he and girlfriend Elsie Hewitt had declared divorce just months after welcoming their first child, a baby girl named Scottie.
