Patrick Muldoon, the actor who appeared on “Days of Our Lives” and “Melrose Place,” passed away on Sunday, his manager confirmed to Variety. He was 57 years old.
From 1992 to 1995, Muldoon played the role of Austin Reed on the daytime soap opera Days of Our Lives. He returned to the soap and reprized the role from 2011 to 2012.
In 1991, he had a recurring role as Jeffrey Hunter on the teen television series Saved by the Bell. He also appeared on the prime-time soap opera Melrose Place from 1995 to 1996, playing the villain Richard Hurt.
In 1997, Muldoon played the role of Xander Barcalow in the film Starship Troopers, directed by Paul Verhoeven.
Muldoon also worked as a producer and worked on numerous films through his storyboard productions, including The Tribes of Palos Verdes, Arkansas, Marlowe, The Card Counter, The Dreadful, and Riff Raff. He was set to produce the new movie “Cockroaches,” starring Chris Hemsworth. Just two days ago, Muldoon posted on Instagram, “I’m so excited to be joining this amazing project, KOCKROACH, directed by Matt Ross and starring Chris Hemsworth, Taron Edgerton, Zazie Beetz, and Alec Baldwin.” The film is currently being filmed in Australia.
His most recent acting role was in the new crime thriller Dirty Hands, co-starring Denise Richards and Michael Beach. The movie is scheduled to be released later this month.
Muldoon is survived by his partner Miriam Rothbart; Parents are Deanna and Patrick Muldoon Sr. sister and brother-in-law Shanna and Ahmet Zappa, niece Halo and nephew Arrow Zappa;
