Taylor Swift’s mother, Andrea Swift, gushed about her future son-in-law in the new trailer for Taylor Swift’s docuseries The End of an Era.
“Travis Kelsey, he brings me so much happiness,” Andrea, 67, told the camera during a sit-down interview for the series, according to footage shared on Instagram on Thursday.
Shortly after, fans were shown a smiling Taylor rehearsing in a Kansas City Chiefs jersey, followed by a glimpse of the couple’s phone conversation.
“We basically do the same job,” Taylor told Kelsey on speakerphone, to which he replied that he has teammates and she has teammates.
“You have Coach (Andy) Reid and I have my mother,” Taylor added, and the pair burst into laughter.
The trailer also shows Swift, 35, supporting Kelsey, 36, at his game from afar, Swift watching from the audience at one of her shows, and the two secretly kissing backstage.
In the trailer, the “Lover” singer also reflects on the “bonding experience” the show created for fans.
“There’s something very special about this,” she said, revealing that she actually came up with the idea for the Elas tour two years before it started in 2023.
“I wanted to over-serve my fans in terms of the amount of songs they listen to and how far I push myself. My main goal is to give my fans something they weren’t expecting,” she added as clips of her singing as a child flashed on the screen.
She also reflected on how the show was her “biggest challenge” and the “seismic impact it had on[her]life”.
“Honestly, I can’t think of a better way to celebrate my (almost) birthday than by reliving the Elas tour with you! This time we’re going backstage. The end of an era, a six-part behind-the-scenes documentary, will be available on @disneyplus starting December 12th 🫶,” Swift wrote in the caption of the trailer on Instagram.
Just a month ago, Swift announced that she would be releasing a documentary series focusing on her record-breaking Elas tour.
“This was the end of an era and we knew it,” Swift, 35, captioned an Instagram post about the Disney+ project at the time.
“We wanted to remember every moment leading up to the climax of the most important and intense chapter of our lives, so we allowed the filmmakers to record this tour and all the stories that were woven together as the tour ended. And we allowed them to film the entire final show.”
The documentary series featured some behind-the-scenes footage from the tour, as well as an intimate glimpse into her relationship with Kelce.
In one scene, the “Ophelia of Destiny” singer hugged and kissed a Kansas City Chiefs tight end backstage at a show.
Meanwhile, in another cute moment, Kelce is seen carrying Swift during rehearsals for her stage debut on the Elas tour in June 2024.
The caption of Swift’s post read, “The Era’s Tour | The Final Show, featuring the entire Tortured Poets Department set, and the first two episodes of the six-episode behind-the-scenes documentary series, The End of an Era, will be available on @disneyplus on December 12th.”
The first trailer also featured appearances by Sabrina Carpenter and Gracie Abrams, who have opened for several of Swift’s shows, and the singer’s go-to collaborator Ed Sheeran.
The Eras Tour was a cultural phenomenon that lasted from March 2023 to December 2024.
While touring, Taylor recorded two new albums, “The Tortured Poets Department” and “The Life of a Showgirl,” and re-recorded “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” and “1989 (Taylor’s Version).”
“The End of an Era” will be available to stream on Disney+ starting December 12th.
