Taylor Frankie Paul lost a shot to a mirror ball, according to a new report.
The “Mormon Wives” star appeared on season 35 of “Dancing with the Stars” before a domestic violence scandal cost her her chance, a source told the US Sun on Tuesday.
“Taylor was going to be on ‘DWTS.’ That was part of the whole deal with Disney,” the source claimed. “When she signed on to be on ‘The Bachelorette,’ her appearance on ‘DWTS’ was also thrown into the mix.”
Paul, 31, was said to be “very excited” to be appearing on the ABC series.
“In fact, she seemed more excited about being on DWTS than being The Bachelorette,” the newspaper reported, noting that Paul “was due to receive a large lump sum this summer.”
The reality star added: “Back then, I would have been paid more as the weeks went by in the competition, but I wouldn’t get that now.”
As for who her professional partner will be, there is said to be “talk that she would be paired with Brandon Armstrong if all goes to plan” due to the 31-year-old’s “gentle” coaching style.
Representatives for Paul and Disney did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
Notably, Paul’s season of The Bachelorette was canceled after Season 5 of SLOMW was canceled due to the investigation into the MomTok star and her on-again, off-again boyfriend Dakota Mortensen.
ABC canceled Paul’s season just days before it began airing after footage of the 2023 game that led to his arrest was leaked as authorities investigated multiple abuse allegations.
However, we heard last month that Paul’s “Bachelorette” journey may still see the light of day.
“[The network]didn’t cancel it, they just paused it,” a source explained to Page Six in March.
Last week, news broke that no new domestic violence charges have been filed against Paul. Paul is currently only supervising visitation with their 2-year-old son, Ever, as he battles with Mortensen over custody.
She and the real estate agent, 33, have each applied for confidentiality orders against the other.
We confirmed on Tuesday that filming for ‘SLOMW’ has resumed. People magazine reported that Paul and Mortensen would not be participating in Season 5, but TMZ claimed that Paul and Mortensen would return with the support of “the entire” cast and crew.
If Paul declined to appear on DWTS, she would have become the third SLOMW star to appear on the competition show.
Co-stars Whitney Leavitt and Jen Affleck placed sixth and ninth, respectively, last year.
