Bath Village Police Chief Donald Lewis confirmed to the outlet that Comstock was taken into custody after the alleged victim contacted police Tuesday night claiming that a street racer had tampered with their car.
Lewis told the report that officers spoke with the victim, who said she recognized the reality TV personality seen on Ring’s security camera committing the crime.
Comstock also contacted police at the same time and spoke with investigators about the incident, and the outlet reported that Comstock “cooperated fully.” Detectives then searched the vehicle and located the GPS device.
The TV star was arrested early Wednesday morning and later released on arraignment. According to the report, a judge issued a restraining order ordering Comstock to stay away from the alleged victim.
Lewis did not specify a possible motive, the outlet said.
Page Six reached out to Lewis, but he did not immediately respond.
Comstock did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment Wednesday.
The Discovery Channel star joined the cast of “Street Outlaws,” a reality series that chronicles street racing in Oklahoma City, back in 2013 when the show began.
Since then, he has made a name for himself as one of the most competitive racers in the long-running series.
