Gangs of London Season 4 has begun production, with star Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù joined by a host of new and familiar faces, Variety has confirmed.

The Sky and AMC+ original series produced by VICE Studios has also gained a new lead writer and executive producer in the form of Who is Erin Carter? Creator Jack Lothian will be in charge, with Jean-Luc Herbro (Zero) serving as lead director.

In addition to Diris, who plays Elliot, Michelle Fairley, Narges Rashidi and Andrew Koji also return to the London-based show, along with Brian Varnell, Ollie Czuka, T’Nia Miller, Valen Kane and Pippa Bennett-Warner, and the season’s logline says the cast must navigate “shifting alliances and new threats reshaping London’s criminal underworld.”

The film also stars Tamara Laurence (Small Axe) as Joe Malik, Luna Fujimoto (Sniper: GRIT) as Hanaka, Eugene Nomura (Tokyo Vice) as Takeshi Kimura, and Merica Forotan (The Empress) as Zelin.

The synopsis reads: “As the impending threat of legalization and government crackdown tightens its grip on London’s criminal underworld, gangsters are forced into an increasingly precarious fight for survival.” “Exiled from London, Elliott Carter is on a bloody path to redemption that brings him back to the capital, where shifting alliances and rising tensions threaten to upend the balance of power. When Zeke Kimura re-emerges with the help of a ruthless syndicate from abroad, the stakes rise, throwing the future of everyone involved, from the Wallace family to Luan, Lail, and Elliot himself, into doubt.”

In addition to Lothian, Season 3 writer Kevin Randle will also be returning for Season 4, alongside Jerome Buchan-Nelson (1899), Meg Salter (The Rig), and Abbi Hines. Elbro is the lead director of the film Saloum, which premiered in TIFF’s Midnight Madness section, with Lindsey Miller (Surface) and Elan Creevy (The Gentlemen) also directing.

Executive producers are Hugh Warren and Claire Marshall of VICE Studios, as well as Thomas Bensky, Jamie Hall and Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù. Executive Adrian Sturges will serve as a producer for Sky. James Levison is series producer and Saba Kier is associate producer.

The show’s creators Gareth Evans and Matt Flannery are also executive producers.

‘Gangs of London’ season 4 will air internationally on Sky and its streaming platform Now in the UK and Ireland, and in the US on AMC+, an NBCUniversal Global Television Distribution agency.
