First of all, I would like to thank you for the patience you have shown in personal matters and, of course, to everyone involved. I know it’s not easy for you and I respect that and appreciate your efforts.
I think I could have contacted you sooner, but it was important for me to have a conversation with the players. We had a very candid conversation yesterday as we started our offseason program. Everyone is looking forward to participating.
I don’t want to be taken out of the draft either. This is an important time for us, for our organization, and for the excitement and joy for our players that we will bring to our football team. They are starting a great journey and it is something to celebrate as we welcome them to our team.
That being said, I’ve had some difficult conversations with people I care about: family, organizations, coaches, players, etc. They were positive and productive.
We believe that success on and off the field requires making the right decisions. That includes me. It starts with me. We never want our actions to negatively impact our team. We never want to be a distraction. There are comments and questions that I answer for and with the team, but they remain private and only for ourselves.
I care deeply about this football team and am excited to coach them. I also know that I intend to attack each day with humility and focus.
And what I can promise you is that my family, this organization, this team, the staff, the coaches, everyone, and most importantly, you’re going to continue to get the best version of us. That’s something I know and I’m excited to do.
I wanted to talk to you about this matter, and I would like to thank you for accommodating my personal matters. thank you.
