Amazon MGM Studios is seeking a new contract for “Reacher.” The studio has signed Reacher star Alan Ritchson to a three-year first-look TV deal to develop and produce new projects for Prime Video.
Ritchson, who stars in and executive produces Prime Video’s Reacher, has signed a new first-look TV deal through his Dancing Skeleton production company.
“With the success of ‘Reacher’ and the upcoming spinoff ‘Neglee,’ we felt it was a natural next step to continue our partnership with Prime Video as we focus on delivering top-level episodic content. Reacher is just the beginning,” Ritchson said in a statement.
Ritchson will star in Prime Video’s action film Reacher starting in 2022 and is producing an EP. He is set to return in the show’s upcoming fourth season. He will also star in and produce “The Man With The Bag” opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger in partnership with Amazon MGM Studios. And he’s starring in and producing Amazon MGM Studios’ untitled Mike Thornton project, which just wrapped production.
Ritchson recently appeared in the Netflix film “War Machine.” He will next be seen in the action film Motor City, co-starring Shailene Woodley and Ben Foster, which will be released in theaters on July 24th. She is also scheduled to appear in “The Runner,” co-starring Owen Wilson, on September 11th. In addition to The CW’s “Smallville,” the star also appeared on Spike TV’s “Blue Mountain State,” Syfy’s “Blood Drive” and HBO Max’s “Titans.”
Ritchson founded Dancing Skeletons to produce television and film projects. In addition to “Reacher,” upcoming releases include untitled Mike Thornton projects “Runner” and “The Man With the Bag.”
