The cast for the new psychological drama “Clover” has been decided.
Patrick Walker (Lessons in Chemistry), John Piper-Ferguson (Suits), and Emma Kenney (Shameless) are set to star in Jordan Tortorello’s Clover. Rafael Cebrian (“Narcos”), Josh Sussman (“Glee”), Brianna Price (“Sistas”), Brianna Cuoco, Tobey Hemingway and Mikayla Rashe Bartholomew also star.
According to a press release, the movie is about “struggling actor Levi (Walker) who wins the lead role in Bradshaw, a psychological warfare drama filmed inside his home. His crew invades his space and an unstable director (Piper Ferguson) takes over. As he is pushed to his limits, the boundaries between Levi and his character dissolve. Grief, loneliness, and paranoia lead him into a mental breakdown, leaving the audience to question what was real.” It was the performance, and whether or not this movie was really about Michael Bradshaw in the first place. ”
Production on the film ended in Burbank, California. This is Tortorello’s directorial debut, and he also serves as a producer through his MixedMedia banner. Brad Landblade and Patrick Walker, who wrote the film with Tortorello, are also producers. Chris Tortorello and Beth Tortorello will serve as executive producers, Penny Sandzimier will serve as line producer, and Sami Tortorello and Joe Vaughn will serve as associate producers. Lauren and Jordan Bass of CSA handled the casting through Bass Casting.
“Clover is a deeply personal film about the pressures of identity and what happens when the line between performance and reality completely collapses,” director Jordan Tortorello said in a statement. “Completely independent, self-funded and built from the ground up, this project is proof of what happens when passionate, like-minded people come together to create unique opportunities.”
