‘Love Island USA’ fans were left outraged after the results of the first round of voting for Season 8 remained unclear.
Viewers were encouraged to vote on who they thought the latest trio of bombshells – Sol, Jen and Caleb – should couple up with via the Love Island USA app after Tuesday’s episode.
But when they tried to submit their votes, which were due by 12 a.m. ET on Wednesday, the app experienced a glitch.
Many users encountered error messages and were unable to vote.
At the time, one user tweeted, “The ‘love island usa’ app is down??? This is voter suppression.”
“I’m playing on this motherfucker’s Love Island app and I’m registered for DAYS and then they suddenly kick me out as soon as voting starts and they won’t let me register for OMFG,” complained another.
The show then tweeted that it was working on resolving the issue.
Hours later, the network announced on X that fans’ “overwhelming enthusiasm for America’s first vote” caused the app to crash and the voting period was extended until Wednesday at 3pm ET/12pm PT.
Fans were still expecting the results to be revealed during Thursday’s episode. However, when watching, the results were not shared, and host Ariana Maddix did not come out to explain the situation.
Narrator Ian Stirling joked about the situation multiple times before confirming that the result had been “postponed” until Friday’s episode.
However, fans were not satisfied with this solution and took to social media to air their frustrations.
“They should have aired episode 2 of Love Island today so why (damn) people couldn’t figure out the vote,” complained one person on X.
“Love Island tonight dropped no recoupling with bc voting issue contesting 75% via episode talk about buried leads. Could have watched this tomorrow instead of live! Well,” tweeted another.

“They didn’t even reveal the voting results today so I could have skipped this episode,” a third person groaned.
“7 minutes left in the episode and the voting results haven’t been released yet?????? Could the episode have been an email?” a fourth added.
Love Island USA viewers can find out the results of the first round of voting tonight on Peacock at 9pm ET.
