Netflix, Prime Video, Disney and WBD share stage in Bali

Heads of Asia-Pacific operations from Netflix, Prime Video, Walt Disney and Warner Bros. Discovery will be speaking at APOS 2026, the annual summit in Bali from June 16-18.

The four executives, Kim Min-young, vice president of content for Netflix APAC excluding India, Gaurav Gandhi, vice president of Prime Video APAC and ANZ, Tony Zamekowski, senior vice president of direct-to-consumer, Disney Asia Pacific, and James Gibbons, president of WBD APAC, will appear together in the day’s featured session, a panel titled “Asia’s Streaming Advantage: Growth, Profitability, and What’s Next?” Afternoon program.

Produced by Media Partners Asia, the gathering will begin with a welcome reception hosted by Netflix on June 16, followed by the AVIA Policy Roundtable, AVIA State of Piracy Roundtable, and the invitation-only APOS CEO Forum. The main conference program will be held on June 17th and 18th.

The first day will begin with a keynote speech entitled “Asia Reset: Engagement, Economics and Value Creation” by Vivek Coote, CEO and Executive Director of Media Partners Asia, followed by a debate on Intelligent Enterprise led by TWG Global Co-Chairman Thomas Tull. Later, Crunchyroll president Rahul Plini will take to the stage for a session on building global anime fandom, and JioStar Entertainment CEO Kevin Vaz will address issues of scale.

The Microdrama Economy will run as a thread across both days. ReelShort CEO Joey Jia will kick off the first day’s fireside conversation titled “Microdrama, Megaeconomics,” and day two will begin with a series of panels titled “Building a Vertical Stack in Asia” with COL Group International, ROCK Networks, and Refinery Media, followed by “Inside the Microdrama Pipeline” with RJ RisingJoy Co-Founder and CEO Cassandra Yang and Bamboo Network Founder and CEO Dabin Chung. Later, Story TV Founder and CEO Saurabh Pandey spoke about India’s micro-drama boom at a private fireside venue.

The first day featured sports features, with JioStar Sports and Live Experience CEO Ishan Chatterjee looking at sports as a platform for fandom, AI and commerce, followed by ICC CEO Sanjog Gupta on the global expansion of cricket and La Liga president Javier Tebas on fan engagement and execution. Prime Video’s three-market panel will feature Gandhi alongside Prime Video India’s Shilangi Mukherji and Prime Video Japan Country Manager Keisuke Oishi to discuss how the streamer is shaping the future of the region.

TikTok’s panel, titled “From Scroll to Success: How TikTok Turns Creativity into Growth,” pairs the platform’s MD of Product Partnerships Isaac Bess with Indonesian creators Christy Basil and Kenneth Xia, and brings the conversation around creator economics and commerce directly to the agenda. YouTube Indian country doctor Gunjan Soni spoke about India’s video boom on Sunday afternoon.

The AI ​​thread intensifies over both afternoons. The panel, titled “The New Creative Pipeline: AI, IP, and Human Craft,” brings together actor and director Andy Serkis, Google’s vice president of entertainment content and platforms Jon Zepp, and director Josh Nelson Youssef. Day 2’s AI sessions will include presentations and panels from JioStar’s Stephan Bugaj and FBRC.ai’s Todd Terrazas on GenAI across the content pipeline. This will be followed by talks on AI-native filmmaking from Cecilia Shen, co-founder and CEO of Utopai Studios, AI and IP from Mark Sagar, chief AI officer at FaiBLE Media, AI-native video localization from Panjaya CEO Guy Piekarz, and AI video generation with Kling AI. Indonesia remains in the spotlight throughout the second day, with Jakarta Deputy Governor Rano Karno speaking about the city’s new incentives for filmmakers and creators, and co-CEO Angela Tanoesoedibijo and CEO of V+Short. A session was held by Clarissa Tanoesoedibijo on MNC Group’s streaming strategy, and Vidio CEO Stant Hartono and MD Entertainment CEO Manoj Panjabi also appeared separately.

The afternoon of the second day featured a broader coverage of Southeast Asian content, with a Philippine session featuring Lino Cayetano, co-founder and CEO of Rein Entertainment, and a Thailand content panel entitled “Made in Thailand” featuring Deedee Pholthaweechai, head of content strategy and international partnerships at TrueVisions NOW, Chris Lowenstein, founder of Living Films, and director Banjong Pisanthanakun. DIVE Studios CEO Brian Nam wraps up his Southeast Asian content operations with a fireside move to build a global fandom from the K-Pop Foundation.

The dialogue with investors will take shape in an opening day panel entitled “Capital in the Age of AI: Where Investors are Betting Across Sports, Streaming and Stories,” featuring Gautam Saxena, Head of Corporate Finance at ING, Nikhil Bahel, MD of Elysian Park Ventures, Swapnil Chitchani, VP of Asia Partners, and David Do, MD of VI Group.

The Piracy Enforcement Division will have a dedicated slot on the afternoon of the second day, when MPA Executive Vice President and Chief Content Protection Officer Larissa Knapp, MPA Live Content Protection Director Guillermo Rodriguez, beIN Asia Pacific Director Mike Kerr, and UEFA Senior Content Protection Specialist Diego D’Avrio will appear together in a session titled “The Fight For Value: A Global Frontline On Piracy.”

APOS 2026 will be held from June 16th to 18th at The Mulia, Nusa Dua, Bali.
